Speaking of Marriage.

Chris (my cousin) and Rachel 10.30.2010

Mum and Dad.

Mum frequently upstages me.
Especially when my hair does that.

Look again.
It touches the grass.

Pa-Pa!

Pa-Pa with shades!
And, brother (arguably still of a marrying age).

Family.

Family.

Family.

Family.

This child...
She said things like, "Set the ground on fire!"
I adored her.

Pa-Pa's bat blazer.
Yessss.

Wendell Berry

…our life reminds me

of a forest in which there is a graceful clearing

and in that opening a house,

an orchard and garden,

comfortable shades, and flowers…

The forest is mostly dark, its ways

to be made anew day after day, the dark

richer than the light and more blessed,

provided we stay brave

enough to keep on going in…

Wendell Berry, from “The Country of Marriage”

I want to go to there.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU'VE BEEN TO SWEDEN?
AND, YOUR GRANDPARENTS LIVED IN STOCKHOLM?

Carl Larrson

Now that you are a lover of Sweden, you need to be familiar with Carl Larrson. He is a swedish painter. When my grandparents lived in Stockholm, they became huge fans, mostly because they felt the children in his paintings resembled many of their own grandchildren. We visited Larrson's home while in Sweden. I remember lots of gardens, naturally.

You're welcome for enhancing your life. Now, go order some prints.

Gym Story.

Last night I overheard two guys talking in the parking lot of the gym.
"I've got a shirt in my car you can wear."
"No, dude, I live just down the street."
"Ok."
"Do you want to follow me? I mean, you can shower too."

Criticism for The Social Network.

POEM

Man in Space

BY BILLY COLLINS

All you have to do is listen to the way a man
sometimes talks to his wife at a table of people
and notice how intent he is on making his point
even though her lower lip is beginning to quiver,

and you will know why the women in science
fiction movies who inhabit a planet of their own
are not pictured making a salad or reading a magazine
when the men from earth arrive in their rocket,

why they are always standing in a semicircle
with their arms folded, their bare legs set apart,
their breasts protected by hard metal disks.

FYI.

I wore this ring all day today.
And, I will continue to wear it all week!!!!

This is a picture of my Sunday morning doughnut.

This weekend in Austin.

We left early for our drive to Austin.

French Bakery on our way out of town.

I love the drive to Austin more than most things.

Sno-cool.

Barton Springs.

I was kind of obsessed with this piano book.

One of the roommates plays the harp.

On our way out we went to The Daily Juice.
Delicious little vegans.
